Ashville High School is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS) and the Commission on Accreditation and School Improvement (CASI).  AHS did make Annual Yearly Progress for the 2010-2011 school year.

Alabama High School Diploma with Advanced Honors Academic Endorsement

Alabama Occupational Diploma-26 units
The Alabama Occupational Diploma requirements are effective for students with disabilities, as defined by the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (Public Law 101-476) who began the tenth grade in the 1997-1998 school year. Students must earn the course credits outlined in the Alabama Administrative Code R.290-030-101-06(11) (k) l.

Beginning with the class of 2013, two additional diploma endorsements will be available for students. These endorsements can be found in the St. Clair County Code of Conduct on pages 15-16.

Standard Grading Scale
A = 90 – 100     A = 4 Quality Points
B = 80 – 89B = 3 Quality Points
C = 70 – 79C = 2 Quality Points
D = 60 – 69D = 1 Quality Point
F = 59 & below  F = 0 Quality Points

Weighted Grading Scale
A = 90 – 100      A = 5 Quality Points
B = 80 – 89B = 4 Quality Points
C = 70 – 79C = 3 Quality Points
D = 60 – 69D = 1 Quality Point
F = 59 & below F = 0 Quality Points

Classes deemed eligible to receive an extra quality point under the Weighted Grading Scale include the following:

AP Calculus
Dual Enrollment Classes

Grade Point Average and Ranking
Official GPA is based on yearly averages in all classes. 

All students with a GPA of 4.0 or higher and who have earned the highest diploma offered will be designated as Honor Graduates and will be assigned a class ranking of # 1.
