






Ms. Patti M. Johnson is an alumnus of Ashville High School's 1985 Senior Class. She continued her education at Gadsden State Community College and Jacksonville State University. On completion of her degree, Ms. Johnson returned to Ashville Middle School where she taught Special Education and Fifth Grade. In 1999, she took the Assistant Principal position at Moody Middle School before returning to Ashville Elementary School as Principal in 2000. Ms. Johnson served as Principal of AES for eleven years. In her first year as AHS Principal, Ms. Johnson has set numerous goals for her students, teachers and herself. She is dedicated to making Ashville High School successful through increased rigor, higher standards, and accountability. It is her belief that the students of Ashville High School should be given every opportunity for personal growth and academic excellence.
Ms. Johnson is presently in her 22nd year of educating St. Clair County students. She received her Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education from Jacksonville State University in 1989 and her Master's Degree in Elementary Education from JSU in 1994. She completed an add-on certificate in Educational Administration to her Master's Degree in 1999. Ms. Johnson earned an Educational Specialist Degree from Jacksonville State University in 2005. In 2009, Ms. Johnson received the Alabama Mentor Certification through NAESP and went on to complete a year-long course to receive the National Principals' Mentor Certification in 2010.
Ms. Johnson has two children, Seth and BreAnna. Seth is a 2010 graduate of Ashville High School and is presently working toward a degree in International Studies at UAB. BreAnna is a freshman at AHS where she is on the Varsity Cheerleader Squad, the JV Volleyball Team and the JV Softball Team.
